Insurance
Many people are covered 100% for nutrition counseling under their insurance plan.
Every insurance plan differs in its coverage for nutrition counseling. Dr. Megan will call and check to make sure you’re covered. She also encourages clients to call and verify their insurance benefits using this guide.
For some clients, especially those with Highmark and United Healthcare, documentation of a nutrition-related diagnosis may be required. This can be in the form of a Visit Summary, referral, or discharge paperwork. Dr. Megan will work with you to make sure all documentation is provided.
Out of network?
Dr. Megan will provide you with a ‘superbill’ which you can submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement after paying out-of-pocket. Initial sessions are $175; follow-up sessions are $130. See her guide on submitting superbills here.
